Discuss the allotment of Chromatography on the basis of different nature of stationary phase and mobile phase?
As we already know that in chromatography stationary phase may be a solid or liquid and mobile phase is always a liquid or gas.Now question arises that how separation depends upon the nature of these phases?Reason is that separation is done with the help of these two phases. These two phases involve following different factors
Factors which affect the separation are given as follows:
Rate of migration
Capillary action
Extent of adsorption
Division of Chromatography is given as follows
Column adsorption chromatography
Partition chromatography
Gas-liquid chromatography
Gas-solid chromatography
Ion exchange chromatography
Now a days a new technique or modern type of chromatography which is known as counter current chromatography. In this type of chromatography exclusion of nature of stationary phase takes place.
Stationary phase may not a solid
With the passage of time More advance type of chromatography has been developed which involves the separation according to the size of molecules which involves the gel molecule’s pores size called as gel chromatography.

Bio-affinity chromatography
It is also a modified form of gel chromatography When it is modified with the help of bio molecules.Than this chromatography is called Bio-affinity chromatography.

Advanced form of Bio-affinity chromatography
More advanced form of Bio-affinity chromatography are given as follows
Metal-chelate chromatography
Ligand exchange chromatography
Dye ligand chromatography
General concepts about different factors affecting the chromatography
There are different same factors between experimental procedures and key principles on which chromatography procedures are based upon. Now general Concepts of these factors is discussed as follows:
Starting Preparation of Stationary phase
Introduction of sample
Passage of sample along the stationary phase
Collection of individual components
